The sale contents are a combination of numerous recent Estate acquisitions from sources where on-site sales were not feasible. Nearly all of the items being offered are fresh and have never been shown before.  Many will be attractively priced with intent to appeal to dealers and private parties alike.  We will invite offers and actively bargain as the sale proceeds into Sunday and Monday.  The facility is spacious, parking is convenient on the weekend. The building is fully accessible.  Good security is in place with monitored alarm, closed circuit surveillance and alert staff.  In the pursuit of safety for all, we will keep congestion to a minimum.  Please come and enjoy yourselves.

The first offering is a very large assembly of sewing related items from the collection of a single lady. Included are thousands of silver and gold items including thimbles, string holders, thimble holders, bodkin sets, hem gauges, needle cases, pin cushions, scissors, sewing sets, thread cases, tatting shuttles, darners and tons of specialty tools.  Many of these pieces are highly decorative and one-of-a-kind.

In addition to the antique sewing notions, we will offer antique and vintage sewing machines, sewing equipment of all sorts, beautiful storage cabinets for spools and other sewing items, and sewing supplies. Also some nice linens and vintage clothing.

In clothing and costume there are two Chinese Robes.  One is a late Qing Court Robe with flat embroidery. The other is an Eight Dragon Marriage Robe with copious amounts of metal thread and spectacular embroidered band at the hem, sporting assorted weaving styles and Forbidden Stitch.

From an early Maryland family is a collection of 18th and early 19th century ceramics and glass ware  from England, America and Europe.  Some outstanding examples are a Swansea dessert set, a Chelsea/Derby set of dinner plates, a set of dinner plates with American Revolutionary motifs, sets of floral decorated salt ware plates including sculpted grape and leaf patterns, pair of Sevres 18th century cabinet plates, set of 18th century faience plates showing scenes of the common man, Meissen game plates, Sevres “Napoleon” pattern serving pieces, three partial dessert sets of Stoke on Trent pottery c.1840 together with a nice assortment of 19th and early 20th century pieces from Limoges and other Continental wares.  Glassware includes numerous early flint glass pieces, decanters, partial glassware services, rummers and Rhine wine glasses.

We will offer a consequential book collection assembled by a diplomat and undersecretary to FDR.  The collection numbers approximately 650 items and includes nicely bound American, English and French titles.  There are numerous multi volume sets by prominent writers, a good assortment of history and a showy assortment of oversize art and architecture books of consequence.  Last but not least a second edition incomplete set of John Audubon’s Birds of America with original bindings.

We are offering a vast assortment of American, English and Continental furnishings. Items of special interest include an 18th century American Mahogany dining table, a set of six 18th century Chippendale chairs together with a set of six Centennial chairs made to match, c.1840 fall front secretary desk purported to be owned by Johns Hopkins, a 17th century English chest with oyster wood veneer, a number of George III small case pieces and tables, an assortment of French 18th and 19th century cabinet pieces, wardrobes  and accessories, Chinese examples include a good rosewood armchair, a square rosewood low table and a nice lacquer and gilt trade sign with characters.  There are also a quantity of Victorian period furnishings at attractive prices. 


In special collections there is a nice grouping of brass and wooden nautical items including brass bound wooden ships wheels, portholes, ship bell, a good quality standard and other pieces.

In the jewelry category there are a number of very nice gold offerings. Included are and assortment of hollow bead necklaces, one long Italian 14kt hollow chain, a nice solid gold round and square link bracelet, a three piece undulating link bracelet, necklace and earring ensemble in 18kt, a fanciful charm bracelet with movable parts, an assortment of omega chains in assorted sizes, a nice amethyst ring in 14kt gold and a hollow formed modernist choker.

As well, there are several hundred rings and other jewelry with and without stones and a large assortment of silver jewelry.  This sale will not include any costume jewelry
