Estate Sale in Benicia THIS WEEKEND

Conditions have improved greatly in the North Bay, allowing us to reschedule our Benicia sale for this weekend.

It's a spectacular sale: California history and Benicia history are represented in spades at this classic Victorian home.

We are offering a collection of property assembled over generations at the family home in Benicia.  Contents are eclectic, with a number of categories represented.

In Furnishings there are a number of wooden pieces from the Victorian period and some Continental and English examples including a very good English 18th century secretary bookcase of generous size. As well, there are a number of glass parlor lamps, metal and marble stand tables and iron plant  stands. Chinese furniture is represented with a nice pair of stand tables and wooden side tables.  Also there are some  Contemporary and Modernist pieces.

The sale is heavy with Decorative Wares, cut and colored glass, sterling silver and silver plated hollowware and flatware, large Franciscan Apple Blossom ceramic service, Continental, American and Asian bronzes and ceramics,  great collectibles and novelty wares, dolls, seasonal items and much more.

Fine Art is well represented with 19th century traditional landscapes, Victorian prints with a romantic flair, rustic watercolor scenes of the Benicia waterfront, as well as a nice assortment of Modern Art paintings and prints along with some Japanese block prints and ink drawings.

Books and Ephemera are a highlight, with lots of local examples of vintage Benicia.  There are also a number of Victorian pictorial books and a large library of volumes focusing on California and San Francisco history along with Art books and a vast array of paper goods. 

Nice assortment of oriental rugs including a room size Sarouk, a late 19th cetury Farahan, a room size silk Chinese rug in the Persian style,  along with a number of other area rugs from Iran and other Middle Eastern countries.

The contents of the basement will be made available in the yard.  It includes furniture and furnishings, tools and supplies, assorted vintage collectibles and metal wares. There are quite a number of things at modest prices.

Last but not least  is a vast multi-estate collection of fine and silver jewelry, including 14kt and 18kt gold and gold with stones items, high carat Chinese pieces, designer things including Van Cleef and Arpels and Chaumet, diamonds, Mexican silver, and much more.  Approximately 1500 items available.  This includes watches and a nice collection of costume jewelry with prices for everyone.The jewelry photos below represent just the tip of the iceberg!


Staff will be on premises during the day for setup, and in the evening for security. Monitored alarm system, attentive neighbors, locked cases for valuables during the sale, and alert veteran staff members. Valuables are removed in the evening. Family members are living in the home during the sale, so please respect their privacy if you arrive early on Friday morning.

There is ample parking for the sale in this residential neighborhood. Please be respectful of neighbor driveways.


The main living space is up about 14 steps. There is a ground level floor as well.
