Warehouse Sale in Emeryville

We are pleased to announce our first warehouse sale of 2015. Estate contents have been coming in from near and far.  Our warehouse is once again bulging with great furnishings, collectibles, decorative items, jewelry, silver, books, and this time, even an old sports car...    Most of the collection is entirely fresh and assembled from numerous smaller Estates acquired over the last 5 months.

The sale contents are a combination of numerous recent Estate acquisitions from sources where on-site sales were not feasible. Nearly all of the items being offered are fresh and have never been shown before.  Many will be attractively priced with intent to appeal to dealers and private parties alike.  We will invite offers and actively bargain as the sale proceeds into Sunday and Monday.  The facility is spacious, parking is convenient on the weekend. The building is fully accessible.  Good security is in place with monitored alarm, closed circuit surveillance and alert staff.  In the pursuit of safety for all, we will keep congestion to a minimum.  Please come and enjoy yourselves.


Contents include a collection of 18th, 19th and 20th century sterling silver and silver plated wares including a diminutive hot water urn by Peter and Ann Bateman and a custom made covered tazza in the Rococo style by Gorham c.1875 along with several early tea and coffee pots, a number of English and Irish salvers, assortment of child's christening cups, a few smaller Jensen hollowware items, a number of repousse and chased decorative sterling bowls and trays, a pure silver 19th century Tibetan covered ceremonial compote, a pair of Adams style, early 19th century sterling Sheffield candlesticks, nice pair of large entrée serving bowls, Kirk repousse pattern oval sugar bowl, pair of alabaster and sterling silver Spratling owl sculptures, a nice older Shreve sterling inkwell with two bottles in a generous size, Arts and Crafts Shreve 5 piece Ramona tea service, 8 piece Gebelein Neoclassic design tea service, a good selection of coin silver hollowware and flatware items, large selection of small sterling wares, flatware pieces, 18th century nanny whistles in sterling and coral, children's goods, 7 flatware services of varying sizes and patterns and quite a lot more.



Decorative wares include a St. Louis Thistle pattern stemware service for twelve with two carafes and two pitchers, large collection of very good cut glass pieces, great set of four cut glass candlesticks and a pair of English Empire cut glass covered compotes, large set of Worchester blue daisy pattern earthenware c.1870 with elephant form handles, nice small sets of china ware, decorative sets of plates and other small ceramic wares, Dirk Van Erp round bowl and canoe shaped bowl. Tibetan 19th century human skull ceremonial cup, lot of cold painted Vienna  arabesque lamps, Czech fruit basket form glass table lamp of large size, Tiffany studios Venetian pattern desk set in bronze, huge collection of glass, ceramic and metal  cased goods and table goods, lot of African and other ethnic masks and sculptures, smoke and cream colored Venetian glass stemware service, approximately 50 multi colored floral Venetian glass lamp parts, and much more.



Vast collection of books and ephemera, some remaining from our last sale with many additions, lots of 19th century offerings, stamp collection, large collection of sports memorabilia. As well, there are two musical instruments being offered. Both originated in the middle ages. One is a rebec and the other a vielle.  They were made by a renowned East Coast luthier George Cassis.

   

Furnishings include Continental, American and Asian examples including a very nice 18th century English linen press, a fantastic Empire style American pedestal form game table with pietra dura top, an interesting rustic American Lazy Susan table from the early 19th century, Chinese 6 drawer carved chest and two hardwood carved stand tables, early Victorian marble top and rosewood washstand, selection of Modernist period American and Danish furnishings, a number of wardrobe cabinets and buffets, carved Chinese dragon form large armchair, good collection of clocks including an Atmos clock and a good early American banjo clock c. 1825,  and an assortment of wooden wall and mantle clocks.  There is, as well, an assortment of outdoor garden sculpture, decorative pots and urns.




Fine Art includes an oil on canvas by WE. Norton, two prints by Antoni Tapies, a landscape by Sartelle, an seaside scene by Hagerup, a large 19th century Italian architectural Villa scene, a large scale oil on canvas showing a  romantic Victorian depiction of two children on a swing, an 18th century Tibetan Tangka and numerous other Contemporary, Modern and Traditional, prints, engravings, acrylics and oil paintings.



Fine jewelry includes several hundred offerings including a 1.1carat old European cut diamond engagement ring, a fabulous Edwardian opal dress clip, a suite of 24 karat gold and watermelon tourmaline necklace and earrings,  a selection of 22 karat Egyptian items, several hundred sterling silver jewelry items and a vast selection of vintage costume jewelry,


From the last sale a great remaining assortment of Christian and Catholic decorative items and furnishings at reduced prices.  This includes early vestments, chalices, art and sculpture, a new addition is a very large ceramic chalk crèche set, together with bronze and brass candelabra and floor candlesticks and an 18th century viewing coffin with relics of a saint.


Last but not least a 1965 Austin Sprite convertible in red.  A perfect candidate for restoration.
